Project Story
In 2021, I co-led the production of an 8th-grade graduation tribute video, an annual tradition created by parents to honor the graduating class. Working alongside two other parents, we coordinated image submissions from over 50 families, curated meaningful visuals, and crafted a 19-minute video celebrating each graduate’s achievements and memories. To protect privacy, the shared version is a shortened 2-minute and 46-second edit.
The video opens with a multi-photo reveal animation using an Envato Elements template, accompanied by a custom school logo I designed in Adobe Illustrator. I layered polaroid-style effects and transitions onto each student’s photos using Adobe Premiere Pro, utilizing nested sequences to keep the timeline clean and responsive to edits. Backgrounds were sourced from Adobe Stock and color-balanced to maintain a cohesive aesthetic.
The final “Congratulations” message was animated using Doodly to add a fun, hand-drawn touch. For distribution, I designed DVD menus in Photoshop, authored discs, and exported the final project using Media Encoder.
This project was a blend of storytelling, technical coordination, and visual design—culminating in a keepsake shared with families to commemorate this milestone.
